New mysterious riddles of Sri Lanka. What unites the ancient civilization of the Indian subcontinent with Africa, Atlantis and South America?

the famous yapahuwa stone lion, sri lankaMihintale, Sigiriya and Yapahuwa: mysterious triangle of sacral objects, memory of whose went through the Millenniums.
Chapter 4 of a Detailed Photo Essay on Sigiriya.

The "lion's Rock" of Sigiriya, placed near the mysterious Pidurangala "pyramid rock", really appears as a heart of the vast complex located in Sri Lanka, the memory about the importance of which and all of its sacred items have reached our days.
Impossibility of natural formations of such rocks of this type and similar orientation of the elements and the complex as a whole at the possible location of the legendary Atlantis leave no doubt in their artificial creation and prove close connection between them, hitting imagination by the highest level of technologies, available to pre-historic human civilization.

Here it is, the great set of three rocky plateaus, with signs of artificial origin, or at least processing, memory of sanctity of which went through Millenniums, surrounded by a halo of legends and myths of worship for people – Mihintale, Yapahuwa and a pair Sigiriya / Pidurangala:

triangle Mihintale, Sigiriya-Yapahuwa, Pidurangala, view from altitude 100 km, Google Earth, alternative history, secrets, Indian subcontinent

I draw your attention to the fact that their location appears as an almost perfectly accurate shape-isosceles triangle (points were taken on the centers of symmetry of each object).  And don't be confused by the fact that the upper (South) side of the triangle somewhat shorter than the lower (Northern). There is a reason.
Apparently, it was important for its creators to provide ideally accurate directions and angles, so that the projection of the triangle on the Earth's surface made such an effect, because Earth surface from the North Pole to Equator expands. The same effect we may see on the Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops), length of Southern foundation of which is longer than Northern, because of ideally accurate orientation of the pyramid sides.

In my previous article (namely in Chapter 3), I drew your attention to the artificiality of the huge Pidurangala rock top, as if it were cut off diagonally by a giant knife, so that it appears in the projection as an equilateral triangle. Assuming that the object had a quite specific purpose and function, such as Over-The-Horizon Radar Antenna Complex, I held the line on its axis of symmetry, and found that it went over the place of alleged location of Atlantis, described by Plato, in the Atlantic Ocean to the west of the "Pillars of Hercules" (in front of Strait of Gibraltar).

During a careful study of the triangle Mihintale-Sigiriya-Yapahuwa, it turned out that its axis of symmetry (the line, drawn from the apex (Sigiriya) through the middle of a base of the triangle) coincides with the axis of symmetry of the triangular top of Pidurangala rock, they have the same direction and parallel to each other!
Such a coincidences could hardly be just randomness and probability, but regularity and law. Such coincidences are simply impossible!

Mihintale-Sigiriya-Yapahuwa ARE COAXIAL!

Following the line of symmetry of this exciting object, I got more accurate results of its direction:

Google Earth screenshot , view from space, Sri Lanka, India, Arabian Peninsula, Africa, alternative history, riddles

The previous line of symmetry of Pidurangala triangular top (described in Chapter 3 of my story) was drawn a little bit higher, over Bogota. Considering the vast distances of 17,855 km - error turned out to be quite small. This time, the line crossed the Equator near Quito, capital of Ecuador. I believe that this is a more accurate result because the accuracy of the direction is much higher because of much bigger dimensions of original triangle – about fifty kilometers (instead of couple hundred meters).

So, while studying of the mysterious objects of Sri Lanka with the sacral-religious significance and surrounded by a halo of millennial age myths and legends, I discovered another two strikingly similar to the Sigiriya objects, which clearly are parts of a single whole; it is supporting my earlier suggestion about some of their technical function (or industrial purpose).

Let's stop now on each of the objects more detail and consider how they might be interesting to us:

1. Yapahuwa – "a double" of the Sigiriya rock, which looks similar to it like a twin brother.

Yapahuwa, double, Sigiriya rock, looks similar, twin brother, stairway on top, Yapawwa

Yapahuwa (original name is Yapawwa) – a lonely rock, like a huge column with sheer walls and flat top rising hundreds of feet above the surrounding plain.
Yapahuwa used to be the capital of Sri Lanka in the second half of the 13th century (1273 - 1284). At this time a fortress was built around the rock.
The Royal Palace was built on the top of the huge rock, in the likeness of Sigiriya; there also grew a sacred Bodhi Tree, also known as Bo (from the Sinhalese Bo), planted from seed of the Bodhi Tree under which the Buddha (Prince Gautama Siddhartha), once gained enlightenment while meditating, then started to preach Buddhism.

The Sacred Relic of the tooth of Buddha (Sinhala: දන්ත ධාතුව) (danta dhātuya), which was brought from Dambadeniya, once was kept in a Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, specially built in the end of third stairway.

ruins of Yapahuwa, the ancient Sacred Tooth Relic Temple, flanked by columns, stone walls

The Sacred Tooth Relic was removed from there and carried away by the invaders from South India, but later recovered in 1288 by King Parakramabahu III (1287-1293), which for security reasons, temporarily put a Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha in Polonnaruwa.
However, after the taking of the fortress by Indian invaders and the loss of the tooth, Yapahuwa was abandoned and fell into disrepair; eventually there lived only Buddhist monks and religious ascetics.

However, of all of the above, it is possible to allocate such basic facts:
  1. Yapahuwa is built on a cliff with steep walls and a flat top like Sigiriya;
  2. In ancient times people gave this place a very high value. So great that they placed here:
    - The State capital;
    - The main relic of the State - The Sacred Relic of the tooth of Buddha.
2. Mihintale – a rocky plateau with obvious signs of artificial adjustment of huge granite bloks to each other on the highest point (pictured below); according to legend, it was used as a mooring site for ancient aircrafts – flying vimanas.    Mihintale is located near the ancient city of Anuradhapura (UNESCO World Heritage).

Aradhana Gala, mountain Mihintale, cradle of Buddhism, vimana mooring site, shrine, sacred place

There is one of its summits on the photo, so-called Aradhana Gala. The Mahavamsa ancient Chronicle, already known to us by description of Sigiriya, says that in 247 BCE, the Arahant Mahinda (son of Ashoka - the Emperor of India), landed on its top after traveling by air. Flight from India to Sri Lanka by vimana took less than one day.

After descending to Earth at this place, he brought Buddhism to Sri Lanka, passing on their knowledge to the King Devanampiyatissa. Since then, Mihintale is considered as the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and is a revered pilgrimage site.

Interesting details: the name Mihintale (Sinhala: Mihin-Thalé) means "plateau of Mihindu". Mihindu – Sinhalese pronunciation of Indian name Mahinda.

The relative historical veracity of this legend is confirmed by the fact that in addition to Mahavamsa Chronicle (written on Pali) it is also described in the Sinhala Dipavamsa epic and Tamil Manimehala epic. Before it get the name Mihintale, this mountain was also known as Sagiri that suggests the similarity with the name of Sigiriya, which is pronounced as Sigiri.
Again the curious coincidence, feeling of some connection between different things and events...

But Mihintale also consists of many other interesting sites, including the ruins of the ancient monastery and the oldest known in our history hospital.

Besides mentions as a mooring site for flying ships, Mihintale hides some secrets, giving to thoughtful observer surprises: some items that do not fit into the overall picture of traditional history and which stumbles a human logic, to be exact:

A. The trough of granite stone, with a length of about 19 meters, located in the ruins of the monastery "refectory":

stone trough, ruins of refectory, monastery top of Mihintale, rice canoe boat, unexplained mysteries Sri Lanka

ruins of monastery's refectory Mihintale, columns of sandstone, brick walls, stone trough

mysterious object, Temple of Mihintale ruins, granite trough, foreign object, release version mismatch

stone trough, Mihintale Temple ruins, granite slabs, square meshes, evidences advanced civilizations

This granite trough generally do not fit into the interior of the ruins of the monastery, it looks completely alien to them. Everything else that we see on the pictures is built of bricks or soft limestone, which is easy to handle. Notice how strikingly different rough, eaten by time surface of limestone columns from the granite trough!

Granite trough is installed on the same slabs of granite bedrock. A magnificent performance, dimensional accuracy, chamfers, accurate curvature radii and surface quality is striking and, like granite thrones of Sigiriya, evoke thoughts of machine processing.
Also note the square holes in the granite slabs on the floor – “the balancing stone” of thousands tones weight on Sigiriya rock has the same! This is a completely different technology and not available to builders, armed with hammers and chisels.

In addition, there is another similar trough in the ancient city of Anuradhapura, very close to this site:

granite stone trough, Anuradhapura, Abhayagiri, batted, damaged edge on left side

Keep an eye on the right side the trough – it perfectly flat, as if it were put in line by a thread. In the same time segments of the left sidewall mounted roughly and corrupted. What's the reason? Because its left side was destroyed.

On this old photo shown what the object was found by archaeologists in following condition:

Anuradhapura, Abhayagiri, rice canoe pieces, photos last century, stone trough, ruins

This is the same trough prior to the excavation. The right side is in good condition. The left side is destroyed. On this photo (below) you can see that it was destroyed not by chance, but intentionally:

Canoe rice, stone trough, Anuradhapura, monastery refectory, Abhayagiri Vihara, ruins, temple, Sri Lanka

Here it is clearly seen that the average gutter segments were under long mechanical effect – bluntly speaking someone took the time and effort for its damaging, very long time hitting the wall of the trough by a huge hammer and significantly damaging its surface before it fell down.

I don't give the rest to some questions, the answers to which are not easy to find:
  • Who and why needed to commit such a stupid and pointless act, having spent an enormous amount of time and efforts to destroy the simple stone troughs (this is not a statue of the hated deity, for example - then it would be understandable)? It can be assumed that breaking down the trough, it was very important that it could not be used as intended any more
  • Why ancient people many thousands of years ago were able to fabricate and assemble perfectly smooth stone troughs of multi-ton blocks of ideal forms; but modern and civilized people, armed with modern engineering techniques, just barely managed to lay down fallen segments of its left side in crooked manner after failing to align them like from the right?
  • Why such a stone troughs were needed, what was their purpose?
A clear answer about the purpose of these troughs doesn't exist; there are no descriptions about them. As a guess, there is a version that the troughs were used to collect handouts of rice, ready meals, which was usually brought by the pilgrims (devotees). Supposedly, monks ate rice, scooping it by bowls right out of the trough. They were called it “Buth Oruva” (or rice canoe, rice boat).

In my opinion, this version is somewhat questionable. It is estimated that the trough fits about the 3,800 bowls of rice. Imagine this huge amount of food in a trough, thrown there as for pigs. The average annual temperature in Sri Lanka +31 degree Celsius, plus-minus just a few degrees - hot and humid climate. There are insects and bacteria. How to wash a huge trough? Unreal ... Within of hours the food in the troughs would be as a poison and everybody who eats from them would just died from intestinal infections.

However, at the same time in the same place there was a perfect system of plumbing and sewage, lavatory, where the waste water, before get into the environment, passed multistage treatment plant! Do you believe what these people knew nothing about bacteria and sanitation and were eating from a trough?
All these facts were found during excavations and confirmed; for example, there are the remnants of an ancient toilet on photo below, with a lavatory pan of the age of two and a half thousand years (?):

First ancient toilet, lavatory pan age of two thousand years, Mihintale, Sri Lanka

B. The mysterious bath tub of granite stone, carved by shape of the human body silhouette, located on the territory of the first known in the humankind history hospital:

Stone bath tub, Mihintale, carved shape human body, first hospital in history
Granite bath tub, Mihintale hospital, oldest, the first medical institution, history Earth

Granite bath tub stands on a granite base. Heartwood is carved in a way that repeats the shape of the head, tapering at the neck, expands at shoulders and then slightly tapering at the place where the hands ends, thereby demonstrating the proper proportions of the human body. Tub depth is sufficient for sinking a whole human body in it, so that it would be completely covered with liquid. There is a bath tub in the "hospital" of another city, a UNESCO World Heritage site – Polonnaruwa (it’s presumed that it’s been moved there from Mihintale):

granite stone bath tub, ancient Polonnaruwa hospital, Sri Lanka, ancient medicine riddles

According to ancient Chronicles, the medicine in these hospitals was so well-developed that there even muscles and bones were treated and restored (the ancient treatises have survived even the name of these professionals – mandova)! But the purpose of bathing remains a mystery – the same as in the case of stone troughs, there is no mention of them in any descriptions, just assumptions.

The plate with description of intended use of bath tubs at Polonnaruwa, behet oruva, herbal oil
The plate with description of intended use of bath tubs at Polonnaruwa

It is expected that these bath tubs were filled with aromatic herbal oils and people were immersed into them for the treatment of skin or other diseases, such as arthritis, etc.

But what for to carve such a complicated shape, with a clear outline of the head? It's uncomfortable! There are no other known analogues, inherited from ancient civilizations. Bath tubs may be oval, round, square, rectangular, and polygonal – but nobody and nowhere carved a special place for the head with the narrowing of the neck. Because a person has to breathe, his head should be located above the liquid surface and it must be comfortable.

Impression: bath tubs form with a cutout for the fixation of the head may have a sense in such cases, explainable from the logical point of view:

  • The human body should be located horizontally, and be fully covered with liquid, or float freely in a fluid with very high density;
  • Such shape of bath tub with precisely defined place for the head is required to prevent the human head from "slipping out"; and the body always must be fastened in the same position, which in turn suggests that:
  • The man placed in the bath tub for a long time had to be unconscious (in deep sleep condition, for example) so that he could not control the position of his body, so you need to fasten it.
  • Version of its use as a sarcophagus (coffin) is meaningless, because for it the normal rectangular shape suits better and much more easier in processing, that we see everywhere in the world.
  • Judging by the familiar to us signs (material is granite, very high quality of processing (possibly machine)), the age of these bath tubs may be on many thousands of years older than the age of the other objects that have been built around them in the aftermath.
So, most likely, these bath tubs were really used in medical purpose, but their real purpose might be of a very wide range, from the treatment of skin diseases to anabiosis and artificial cultivation of organisms - cloning.

C. There is another thing, very important from my point of view.
Take a look at this photo; it is taken from the official website of the Central Cultural Fund Sri Lanka (government establishment):

logo Central Cultural Fund Sri Lanka, hands are covering, protecting a triangle

An official logo of this organization is hands which are covering (as if protecting) a triangle. The meaning of this logo is following: “The Area formed by connecting the ancient capitals of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy with Sigiriya in the centre is called the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. In this triangle there are places of worship, palaces, halls of learning and other buildings”.

Now notice the symbols carved on a granite stone in Mihintale. They say that the carving on the stone is placed by the CCF in modern times (in 1956 exactly as Ishanka mentioned) to mark the place as a heritage site in the cultural triangle:

schematic image, human hands covering triangle, defending, a triangle with symbols inside

On this photo we also see a schematic image of human hands, which covering, as if defending, a triangle with symbols inside. The upper part of triangle is visually separated into a smaller triangle. Like a small pyramid is the top of the big pyramid...

Moreover, the image of covering the triangle hands was placed in Mihintale, one of the apexes of the triangle Mihintale-Sigiriya-Yapahuwa. So which of triangle is actually meant on this stone carving? It seems to me quite logical that the triangle has to be directly relevant to Mihintale. Therefore, the most important are the oldest objects: Sigiriya, Mihintale and Yapahuwa, which are forming this exact triangle.

cultural triangle, Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Sigiriya, Mihintale, Yapahuwa

This Google Earth screenshot shows how Sri Lanka with "cultural" triangles look like from an altitude of 200 kilometers, from the outer space.
Is there coincidence again? These objects were placed so casually? Hardly believe... There are too much of coincidences.

It is more likely that:

  • First ancient builders of these objects were perfectly aware of geographical coordinates; they had maps, knew the shape of the Earth and used positioning devices, allowing them to plan construction of such a great objects;
  • For some reason, this precise location of these objects was important to them, and indeed it is possible that they were able to observe these objects from outer space.

By the way, about outer space. I decided to check how these triangles oriented in relation to each other and to the equator, and there we are:

direction, axis of symmetry of cultural triangle, Sri Lanka on Google Earth

This screenshot shows directions (and angles) of axes of symmetry of “cultural triangles” of Sri Lanka; the direction to the North Pole is taken as “0.00” degrees, angles calculated in a clockwise direction:
  • From the top of Sigiriya (the triangle of Sigiriya-Mihintale-Yapahuwa) line of symmetry is held at an angle of 290.42 degrees;
  • From the top of Polonnaruwa (the triangle of Polonnaruwa-Anuradhapura-Kandy) line of symmetry is held at an angle of 252.66 degrees;
  • Accordingly to this, the line of symmetry of both of these lines, in other words the line drawn precisely between them is held at an angle of 271.54 degrees.

So, the general line of symmetry of these triangles only on 1.54 degrees deviates from the line of the Equator, it is almost parallel to the Equator!

tracking stations, Indian subcontinent, ancient South American cosmodromes, scheme, support, launching sites

What does it mean? Is there could be any sense? Yes, there is and very important! The logical assumption would be that the “cultural triangles” of Sri Lanka actually had specific technical purpose and were used to support the work of the ancient cosmodromes (spaceports).

We already know that it is better, most correctly and profitably to build cosmodromes on the Equator and launch spaceships in the equatorial plane.

why is it better to launch rockets from the Equator, scheme

There are some definite reasons why:
  • By launching close to the Equator in eastern direction, spacecrafts get an extra boost of speed from the rotation of the Earth that helps them reach orbit; speed increases due to adding the peripheral speed of the cosmodrome. Peripheral speed of the cosmodrome is the speed of its movement around the axis of the Earth's rotation. The closer one is to the Equator, the more distance between it and the Earth's axis of rotation – and the more peripheral speed. When a carrier rocket is launched from the Equator (compared to Baikonur Cosmodrome, for example) into geostationary orbit, its payload can be increased by 25-30% with the same rate of fuel consumption.
  • The Earth at the Equator has a larger radius (it only approximately has the shape of a ball, actually Earth is flattened), so the gravitational acceleration at the Equator less than elsewhere. The difference is not very big, but for example, the “Proton” carrier rocket of 700 tons weight will be “lightened” on 4.3 tons!!! Why not to take into space extra 4.3 tons of payload!?
  • Next factor: on Equator the spaceship is closer to "outer space" on 20 km, and therefore needs less fuel (energy) to get to the same height and the same orbit!
  • Furthermore, launching of spacecraft into geostationary orbit from the Equator is easier because the angular velocity of its rotation coincides with the angular velocity of the rotation of the Earth. So, spacecraft is "hanging motionless" above a certain point of the Equator. And this is used for satellite communications and telecommunications (makes ground-based receiving easier; it’s quite enough to have a simple ”antenna dish”, directed on the satellite's orbital position, rather than receiver complex with the mobile tracking systems).
Since direction of spacecraft launch must coincide with the direction of rotation of the Earth (from West to East), it makes sense to look for evidences of ancient cosmodromes in South America, within a sector defined by red lines (or with a deviation up to 30° from them – within working sector of radars), from which the spacecrafts might be launched towards Sri Lanka. Furthermore, on the territory of Sri Lanka had to be tracking stations for control over the taking off spacecrafts.

Spacecraft King Ravana taking off from ancient cosmodrome Nazka desert South America

This fact may explain construction of ancient objects (cities) by the regular triangles; placed there radar equipment allows to define the location (positioning) and other parameters of the flying objects, including their angular speed and the direction of the motion vector with high precision.

Anyone who is familiar with the principles of operation of range-finders, direction-finding and positioning, shall understand me immediately.
I just want to tell you, that for determination of the exact position of an object in space, we need to know the direction and distance to it, taken from the three different points; that we see in this case.

where to look for ancient gods cosmodromes in South America, Peru, Chile? evidences
traces ancient civilizations included people and gods, where search for cosmodromes, South America, India

By the way, the line of symmetry held from Polonnaruwa passes over the mysterious ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru at coordinates: 14°41′18″ S, 75°7′22″ W.

The ancient city of Machu Picchu, Peru (coordinates 13°9'47.09" S,  72°32'46.16" W) with surprising megalithic polygonal masonry of granite blocks, is also located within the sector, defined by red lines of directions of triangles of Sri Lanka.

There are also many other similar ancient objects within a sector defined by red lines; ruins with unaccountable high-tech processing of megalithic blocks, etc., which give us reason to believe that the level of development of their civilization was much more advanced than ours: Saksaywaman, Písac, Tiwanaku and Pumapunku, Ollantaytambo, Caral (Norte Chico). What is this - a coincidence, a fluke?

There is something to think about...

Thus, I believe that there is a very strong connection between ancient civilizations of the Indian subcontinent and the ancient civilizations of South America; it is highly possible.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the readers, who read my Sigiriya Story to the end; also I would be very grateful for the valuable additions and interesting comments.

  2. the symbol in the granite stone of mihintale is not that ancient. I think it was done recently. I am just guessing u can ask about that from some one in Archeology in SL. The reason i am saying it is recent is the description mentioned in the triangle.

What it says is 'bu' 'wa' 2550. It is similar to AD (After christ) where 'bu' 'wa' refers to After Buddha. In SL people use that. I think it means that symbol was carved in the rock in 1956 AD.

    Anyway ineresting observations

    Very Interesting Article
The reason why it is difficult to get the information due to our country didnt had uninterrupted knowledge transferring mechanism. It was robbed and destroyed by visitors who captured Sri Lanka within last 500 years. Still some ancient books are in Europen countries Portugal, Netherland and England.
We heard from Ancient Story tellers there was a king called Rawana who had a flying machine and ruled some colonies of India and still some of ancient Aurvedic Medicines are available you can check these days more tourists visit and learn. And first tough Iron making using air and ancient irrigation systems which drove only 1inch slope for 1mile and auto water pumping to top of the rock Sigiriya. Thanks again for your time and effort for digging our country's heritage
