Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom, the unique 1500 years old Orthodox temple), served as Eastern Orthodox cathedral and seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople |
You can read about Sri Lankan "sarcophagus" here: Mihintale, Sigiriya and Yapahuwa: mysterious triangle of sacral objects, memory of whose went through the Millenniums. Masonic symbols before the Buddhist era. Chapter 4 of a Detailed Photo Essay on Sigiriya.

I've found them at the temple of Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom, the unique ancient Orthodox church). To be exact, these "bath tubs" were excavated from the much more ancient temple at the foundation of Hagia Sophia.

Of course, "sarcophagi" from Hagia Sophia might be just imitation, but imitation of something... what exactly ancient orthodox masters might have seen somewhere else… in Sri Lanka?!?
It seems that Hagia Sophia was built atop the much more ancient object, the same way as Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem and Temple of Jupiter in Baalbek were built on unknown substructures of age of dozens of millenniums…
By the way, there was something to think about when I read an information plate on the place of excavations near to Hagia Sophia, from where these "sarcophagi" were drawn out: "In order not to harm the present Hagia Sophia building, further excavations works were not carried out".

Dear Turkish and Sri Lankan scientists, what do you think about it?
Hey Vladimir, I've seen this in Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Mihinthale in Sri Lanka. More precisely it is not a bath tub, It's known as "Beheth oruwa" - with the meaning of "Boat full of Medicine". About 2500 years before sri lankan peoples used to fill this with a liquid medicine created by the herbal Ayurvedic plants. For the patients with a snake bites etc are placed in the tub for days to get the fully recovery.
ReplyDelete"Mihinthale" is a one of very first residential hospital. Even now if you visit National Museum - Colombo, Sri Lanka you'll be able to find out some of instruments which used in surgeries, about 2500 years before.
Anyway, I didn't know about identical Hagia Sophia bath tubs till I read this post. It's a interesting post. Thanks for share this.
Hey Zeeker,
DeleteGreat to hear from you again! I carefully described my thoughts and conclusions along with official version of use of "Beheth Oruwa" in "Chapter 4 of a Detailed Photo Essay on Sigiriya" of my Blog, link: http://8916898.blogspot.com/2013/06/new-mysterious-riddles-of-sri-lanka.html
Thanks for your comment, it confirms a lot!

Hello Mr. Yves Herbo,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I would like to express my gratitude for translation of my articles to French.
Also thanks for interesting links to your website. Great job!
Regards,
Vladimir.
While this may have been used as a medicine bath, I have trouble seeing the same exact designs in many "disconnected" ancient locations and assuming it was the same purpose. I'm feeling it's more like the vibracoustic receiver Bladimir is writing about so in depth.
